Eye for the Light Interviews Tim Plowden About Urban Wildlife Photography

by Tim Plowden, 18 September 2021

Today Travel Photographer of the Year‘s online magazine, Eye for the Light, published an interview with Tim Plowden about the nature of wildlife photography by discussing his urban wildlife photography project and human wildlife coexistence.

Wildlife photographer Tim Plowden argues that we are part of rather than separate from nature and captures the fine line between humans and the hornbills near his home in Singapore.

Underlying this project is a desire to create images that show an honest picture of urban wildlife. Instead of abstracting the subject from its environment, I used the environment to frame the subject, leaving no doubt as to the context of our relationship with nature.

You can read the article, “Pristine nature versus ‘real’ nature” on the Eye for the Light website.
